ChipX Now Time Trialing in Australia Recently the Australian Time Trials Association (ATTA) made the decision to further enhance the professional experience for their members by introducing the AMB ChipX system. The Australian Time Trials Association is the premier organisation for Time Trial Cycling in Australia. President Peter Meyer told members “we have finally taken the plunge to expand our timing system at events to include 'chip' timing. Many riders will be familiar with similar systems used in Triathlons and mass participation events. The system we will be using is an active transponder system (it uses small battery powered transmitting devices attached to the bike). AMB systems have been used, for example in the Tour de France. Initially we'll be running a hybrid system and hopefully, the integration with our present system will be fairly seamless. But we intend to implement it as our primary timing system very soon and make use of some of its more advanced features.” The ATTA are hoping that the introduction of the AMB ChipX system will continue to help the membership grow and also encourage other clubs to partner with AMB.
