24 Hours of Le Mans & AMB Celebrate 5 year Anniversary
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the oldest and most prestigious endurance race in the world. Held since 1923, Le Mans continues to have the best drivers in the world compete in their team format for a grueling 24 hours. AMB Transponders have been in use for official scoring at Le Mans since 1989. In 2000, AMB's TranX Pro Driver ID Transponders became mandatory for all teams in the race. The Driver ID Transponder is used in this race since it allows timing and scoring to identify the true driver of the vehicle. According to the race's sanctioning body, Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the Driver ID Transponders add several benefits and make their work easier. Knowing exactly who is in the car at any given time helps their scorers in several ways. For example, during practice, timing each driver is done much more quickly and accurately. During the race, it is easier to determine driving times Learn more about the history of Le Mans at www.lemans.org |
